Jens Pulver Injured, WEC Debut on Hold

The World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight debut of Jens Pulver (21-8-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC) has been put on hold because of a knee injury sustained by the fighter, Sherdog.com reports.

Pulver, a former UFC lightweight champion who recently served as a coach on “The Ultimate Fighter 5,” reportedly has an MRI scheduled for later this week that will determine the severity of the injury.

The Miletich Fighting Systems fighter was set to face Cub Swanson, a 23-year-old King of the Cage and WEC veteran who’s won his past 11 fights, at WEC 30 on Sept. 5. The event is scheduled for the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Pulver’s WEC debut is now on indefinite hold.

i was going with pulver but, wouldn't be surprised if cub took it. sucks that pulver got injured and sucks that cub didn't get his big shot. i'd like to see cub as a lightweight in the ufc.

yeah i like Pulver but the time is coming for him to move on to his next roll of great coach!

i agree. it's approaching. he still has some fight left in him but, he needs to make it count. he doesn't have too much left. this is where andy jumps in...lol
