Josh Koscheck: Diego Sanchez’s Family is Weird, Drunk

The Feud Is Heating Up!

The war of worlds between The Ultimate Fighter season one castmates Josh Koscheck (8-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) and Diego Danchez (17-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC), who meet on the main card of next weekend’s UFC 69 event, just keeps getting better and better.
Although the two rising welterweights were anything but best friends after Sanchez squeaked out a semifinal split-decision win on the show, the two fighters have gotten downright personal in the past couple months.
The latest round of attacks was started when Sanchez left a message on Koscheck’s MySpage page, in which he told the “blanket” he better bring a some “balls” to their upcoming fight. (Diego, a world-class fighter? Sure. World-class trash-talker? Not so much.)Anyway, Sam Caplan of CBS Sportsline.com recently spoke to Koscheck about the feud, and a whole new layer of deliciously comedic details got poured into the mix.
While answering a question about the feud, Koscheck casually mentioned that Sanchez’s family members were part of it. Caplan, of course, didn’t let that slide by.

Q: Sorry to cut you off, but family members of his have approached you?
JK: Yeah, very funny though (laughs).
Q: Can you tell me about that?
JK: Actually in San Diego, his brother approached me and he goes “Do you know who I am?” He came up and grabbed and shook my hand after the fight in San Diego for UFC Fight Night. It was actually really funny, I was with a bunch of my friends, and we were all hanging out at the bar in San Diego, a club, and his brother comes up to me (laughs), “Do you know who I am?” And I go, “No, not really.” And he goes “Well look into my eyes and tell me you don’t know who I am?” I was just like, “Who’s this f—– lunatic,” you know? And basically he goes “I’m Diego’s brother,” in a sarcastic voice, kind of like a weirdo, psycho voice and I was like, “You’re Diego’s brother?” He goes “Look into my eyes” and I was like “Yeah, yeah, you don’t look like him.” I was just kind of playing with him, you know? But he’s like hot eyeballing me and just trying to create drama in the scene, and another time in Vegas something similar came up to that. You know, therefore, I don’t like him, I don’t like any of his family, I don’t like anything to do with him — anything. I can’t stand him.
Q: What happened in Vegas?
JK: Something similar. We won’t go into details about that one too much.
Q: Well, there’s a rumor on the Internet about something that happened at the pool of the Palms Hotel & Casino.
JK: That is true.
Q: But you don’t want to go into details about that?
JK: No, very true. You know, actually I was there with some friends and I play a lot of cards, basically I’m a blackjack junkie. I was at the Palms, playing, and my uncles were there and we were all playing, hanging out, and basically he’s hot balling us and he was all drunk, so was his brother. And they tried to start a fight with me and my managers. You know, I’m not going to do anything in public, so I was the better man and just walked away and they were like “You p—-! You walking away? Bluh, bluh, bluh!” And I wasn’t even drinking or anything, so it was kind of funny. But he’s going to get what’s coming to him, and I can’t wait for April 7 to get here.

Holy hell, where do we even start with this one?
Honestly, this thing really needs no further analysis. Koscheck painted the picture perfectly.
And if true (and it’s hard to think it’s not true), kudos to Koscheck for being the bigger man.
There’s absolutely no doubt that Sanchez is one of the UFC’s greatest welterweights, a true contender and one of the most exciting fighters to compete in the Octagon. He’s destined for an amazing career in the UFC. But he just seems to make some stupid decisions sometimes.
Again, people can trash the UFC 69 fight card until their blue in the face, but this fight alone is worth my $40. 53 Comments

i absolutely agree this fight is worth the money! don't know how much of this story is true. but then again, i didn't know the lee murray and tito story was true until an interview with pat miletich. i love grudge matches! but, the drunk will take this one. the ass beating is gonna have to come by one of the greatest fighters of all time... HUGHES BABY!

Diego Sanchez Responds to Josh Koscheck’s Criticism, Calls Him “Jealous”


“Obviously I won The Ultimate Fighter. That’s what he wanted to do. Everything I’m doing, he wishes he was doing. So yeah, he’s jealous, and obviously we don’t get along. It makes for a good fight, and I’m glad he feels that way, because maybe now he’s gonna come in there and fight with me, and really get it on, because that’s what I like.
“I’m like a pitbull, you know. I fight ’til I’m done. You get me in that cage and you lock that door, and that’s why my nickname is ‘The Nightmare.’ Because I don’t stop coming, and I’m gonna be right in front of you. I’m a warrior. I’m a warrior more than I am a fighter, and that’s what I am at heart. And Josh Koscheck… Josh Koscheck’s got another thing coming when we step into that ring. I’m sure he’s worked very hard, but I’ve worked very hard also. But I feel I have something he doesn’t have. It’s inner toughness and heart. That comes from years and years of growing up where I grew up, fighting from day one.”

jealous? kos lost the contest and against fickett since then. yet here he is right with diego fighting for a possible title match. if anything diego should be jealous. i'm glad he's not though. i don't know if i could stand hearing him whine some more.

For the clips i've seen of Diego working out with Oscar DeLaHoya, Josh Koschec is in HUGE FREAKING trouble!! This will be the fight that either catapults Diego to the front of the line or puts him into a elimination tournament to see who the number one contender is.

I hope Diego gets his ass kicked!
