Stephan Bonnar to train with Randy Couture

According to Xtreme Couture, UFC light heavyweight fighter Stephan Bonnar will be relocating to Las Vegas in order to train with Randy Couture.

By making the move to Couture’s fight gym, Bonnar will be reunited with Forrest Griffin. The two became both friends and rivals during the first season of The Ultimate Fighter and not only fought in the finals of the show, but also in a rematch.

This is a great move for Bonnar, whose career had stagnated even before testing positive for steroids last year. Personally, I think the guy is underrated. He’s got great size for a light heavyweight, is intelligent, a hard worker, has good standup skills, and a decent ground game.

Boonar had been training in Chicago, where there aren’t many fighters of his caliber. He’ll certainly get a challenge by working with the star-studded student body at Couture’s school/gym.
