Karo Parisyan: Matt Hughes “Can’t Touch” Georges St. Pierre

UFC veteran Karo Parisyan (16-4 MMA, 6-2 UFC) knows why former UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes seemed so elated after Matt Serra took the belt from Georges St. Pierre last month at UFC 69: because there was no way Hughes was going to be able to defeat St. Pierre himself.
The UFC veteran and famed Judo specialist, who faces Josh Burkman later this month at UFC 71 in Las Vegas, discussed the state of the UFC’s welterweight division in a recent interview. And in it, Parisyan made no secret of his disdain for Hughes.

Parisyan was actually slated to face Hughes in a title shot at UFC 56 back in November 2005, but he had to pull out of the fight because of injury. Upon his return, though, the title shot was no longer there.
And obviously, that hasn’t sat well with Parisyan:

I think Koscheck should fight Matt Hughes, St. Pierre should fight Diego [Sanchez], and god willing if I beat Burkman I should get my title shot because I had my title shot once and I never got it back, I have to work my way up. St. Pierre got hurt, lost his title shot, but he came back and they gave him a shot; I don’t think that’s fair. But as far as everything they are just trying to feed Matt Hughes, they are giving him Matt Serra so he can take his title back and be champion of the world, it’s f******stupid bro. I can’t believe that b***s***, it is what it is, ya know?

Parisyan has now won six of his past seven fights — all but one was with the UFC — and his only loss was a Fight-of-the-Year-worthy battle with Diego Sanchez at UFC Fight Night 6 in August 2006. Unfortunately, though, in an ultra-stacked 170-pound division, Parisyan has become somewhat of a forgotten contender, toiling in the shadows of fellow welterweights such as Hughes, St. Pierre, Koscheck and Sanchez.
However, if Parisyan can defeat Burkman in their main-card UFC 71 bout on May 26, it’ll be hard to ignore him any longer. Like that Parisyan-Sanchez fight, the Parisyan-Burkman bout has the makings of a show-stealer.

Burkman is gonna rip through him!!! I mean he has heart and skills, he had a broken arm when he choked out Melvin Guillard so he is tough enough---AND HE TRAINS AT THE TEAM PORNISHMENT CAMP!!!

I never doubted it would be a great fight it could go either way but Karo obviously is just as big a dick as everyone accuses Hughes is! Hell yeah Hatin on everyone and mean muggin everyone that walks by!!!!
