Chicago, Boston, Atlanta and Washington D.C. Possible UFC Host Cities

The list of potential UFC host cities continues to grow.
Chicago, Boston, Atlanta and Washington D.C. are all possible sites for future UFC events, according to Dana White in today’s conference call with the media.

Since launching UFCjunkie.com last year, I’ve always special attention to any UFC officials’ public mentions of possible host cities — largely because the predictions end up coming true. Additionally, the UFC wouldn’t mention any potential sites without doing some previous legwork, so it’s fairly safe to assume that the wheels are in motion for any cities they discuss.

Chicago and Washington D.C. have been mentioned previously by White and UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner. And though the Northeast and Southeast have been spoken about in general terms, Boston and Atlanta have rarely (if ever) been topics of real conversation until today.

The group of major metros bolsters an already swelling group of probables. Montreal, East Rutherford, Cincinnati, Seattle, Albuquerque and Portland are just a few of the North American cities that have been discussed recently. And with the UFC’s recently opened office in the United Kingdom, the list of international cities will also continue to grow.

The goal of making the UFC a true international organization will take two major steps in the next couple months. UFC 70 takes place Saturday in Manchester, England, and UFC 72 takes place June 16 in Belfast, Ireland.

In addition, UFCjunkie.com just recently got confirmation that the UFC intends to hold UFC 73 in Sacramento, Calif. on July 7. The event, which will feature a main event of UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva vs. Nate Marquardt, was originally scheduled for Las Vegas.
